Quorn Foods is a trail-blazing business that believes we need to tackle the big issues facing food supply head-on. The world’s current diet is driving severe health issues and is unsustainable for the planet. However, there is a way to provide delicious food that is good for our health and environmentally sustainable.
We have chosen a fundamentally different start point to enable us to tackle the problem. We start with fungi, not plants or animals, we grow our food in fermenters rather than in fields, and we maintain the goodness of wholefood fungi in our foods rather than breaking it down into isolates or concentrates.
Using fungi and maintaining it as a wholefood means we have a high-quality protein that delivers as well as meat, but importantly comes with a unique combination of fibre, which helps deliver outstanding nutritional qualities. The significant R&D investment we have made in our fermentation process and in our ability to create foods means that we get great sustainability and great tasting food, that other protein sources cannot match.
