An innovation in creating energy from waste water without any biological process.
5-7% of the electricity consumption in the world is linked to water treatment. Cleaning dissolved organic molecules in industrial wastewater has a cost of $90 billion per year. SweetGen could save these industries up to $12 bn/year.
Many organic compounds are recalcitrant to the conventional wastewater techniques, such as biological treatments: these become inefficient when it comes to high loads of toxicants (e.g.: formaldehyde). As a result, Industries have to resort to much more expensive advanced oxidation processes, such as WAO, Incineration, and Fenton’s Reagent.
SweetGen Ltd has developed a solution to tackle this environmental problem, with a process process that acts in continuous, with no incubation time or conditioning required, at an almost negligible operational cost.
