We’re looking to recruit a Consultant (researcher) to join our growing team, responsible for the project management and delivery of a range of high quality, high impact projects on a broad portfolio of public engagement and social research topics.

The consultant role is challenging, and you’ll learn fast by working across a range of different sectors, using a range of different methodologies. You will have the opportunity to learn from practice experts. We are a collaborative and supportive team, passionate and enthusiastic about our work.

We are aware that many highly capable prospective candidates may rule themselves out of work of this kind because they underestimate their own ability to do the role. With this in mind, we strongly encourage applications from anyone who is prepared to learn and grow on the job and would like to stress that a degree and/or experience of working in research is not an essential requirement.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have recent experience in leading the project management of multiple geographically dispersed projects which includes the coordination of external events.

Being part of the Traverse team is about variety. In the space of a month we can go from talking to patients about their experience of video appointments with a GP, to running a focus group with construction industry trainees about sexism, to riding in a self-driving car with a group of citizens to help them think about new traffic laws. The common thread is that we want to involve people in the decisions that affect their lives.
