Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Engagement Manager to support the delivery and growth of the Climate Group’s industry focused initiatives including SteelZero and our forthcoming ConcreteZero programme.

Climate Group drives low carbon industry innovation. We do this by building and showcasing demand for low carbon or alternative cement / concrete and zero carbon steel. We also bring together the key players from business and government to discuss, collaborate and share knowledge in a way that supports industry action and encourages clear and supportive policies.

SteelZero and ConcreteZero are major corporate commitment campaigns that convene leading organisations to speed up the transition to a net zero industry. Both initiatives form an integral part of the suite of action programmes delivered by the We Mean Business Coalition and the Mission Possible Partnership, of which Climate Group is a member.

Depending on the preferences of the successful candidate, this role can be based either in our London or Amsterdam office.

About the Climate Group

The Climate Group drives climate action. Fast. Our goal is a world of net zero carbon emissions by 2050, with greater prosperity for all.

We focus on systems with the highest emissions and where our networks have the greatest opportunity to drive change. We do this by building large and influential networks and holding organisations accountable, turning their commitments into action. We share what we achieve together to show more organisations what they could do.

We are an international non-profit organisation, founded in 2004, with offices in London, Amsterdam, New Delhi and New York. We are proud to be part of the We Mean Business coalition.

About the role

The Engagement Manager’s role is to design and implement an effective engagement and stakeholder management programme for SteelZero and ConcreteZero, in particular driving membership growth for both initiatives.

The Engagement Manager will work closely with existing and potential members of these programmes to ensure maximum impact is delivered via membership activity. The role works closely with our offices and networks in Europe, India and North America, whilst also taking a wider global perspective to support action in other key markets.

  • Day to day management of business relationships across the network of SteelZero and ConcreteZero
  • Engaging with potential members of SteelZero and ConcreteZero to support participation in these initiatives

  • Preparing reviews of project progress, and other reports as required by funders and other stakeholders
  • Identifying additional fundraising opportunities to support the growth of the programme, as well as developing funding bids in collaboration with Climate Group’s fundraising team
  • Liaising with the We Mean Business coalition secretariat and its members to maximise learning and engagement with these partners and contribute to the coalition’s sector strategy
  • Developing messaging and other materials to support the effective communication of the suite of business-led initiatives across the heavy industry space, in particular Climate Group’s campaigns and those of partners
