The opportunity

We have an exciting, long-term opportunity in our Finance team for someone who would like to grow with the role. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic person who is either currently training for finance qualifications (e.g. AAT, CIMA, ACCA) or planning to start training for a career in finance. For the right person, there is a potential opportunity to take on more responsibilities in time. If you have a positive “can do” attitude, excellent attention to detail, previous experience of assisting in finance tasks and self-motivation to learn we would love to hear from you.

Our Core Services team works across the business covering Head Office functions including Finance, Human Resources, Integrated Management Systems (Quality Management System, Environmental Management System), Facilities, IT and Marketing. You will be part of a small and friendly team, in an ethical SME, to assist the Finance & Facilities Manager – mainly in finance transactions but sometimes with facilities tasks. The role comes with a permanent contract for 37.5 hours per week, five weeks holiday per year, plus Bank Holidays. We are open to discussing part-time hours (minimum 30hrs and must work a Thursday) for the right candidate.

What you will be doing

  • Processing the casual staff payroll on a weekly basis including setting up new starters on Quick Books Advanced payroll
  • Running the payroll reports and payments through internet banking
  • Payroll journals as required by the finance system
  • Emailing payslips to employees
  • Managing the casual staff auto enrolment pension contributions
  • Processing staff expenses through our project management software CMAP and importing into Quick Books
  • Paying expenses and purchase invoices on Quick Books
  • Online banking authorisations as required
  • Assisting with sales and purchase ledger functions on CMAP and pushing to Quick Books
  • Pulling purchase, sales and expense information from Quick Books back into CMAP
  • Filing
  • Reconciling Quick Books accounts
  • Undertake any other tasks as requested by the Finance & Facilities Manager

Learning all of Resource Futures’ financial systems over time to support the Finance & Facilities Manager in providing a holistic and effective finance function for the company. (e.g. processing permanent staff payroll on a monthly basis, management information reporting, pension, sales invoicing, VAT filing in the future.)
