Supporting schools to evaluate their impact and help pupils

Join our team as a senior developer, improving our digital platform which helps schools prioritise how to best improve life chances for children

ImpactEd is a non-profit social enterprise that helps schools to make the biggest difference possible to young people’s life chances – mainly through a digital platform that helps teachers to assess the impact of support provided to young people.

Our digital platform has been built from the ground up by a small technology team over the last two years. We are now hiring for a senior full-stack developer who is drawn to our social mission and is looking to have technical ownership and responsibility across all aspects of the stack.

This would be a unique opportunity for an experienced software developer who is keenly interested in solving user problems and working across the full lifecycle of a product, both technical and non-technical. You would be working with one other full-time developer and as such have significant opportunity to shape our product direction, technical practices and working culture – alongside contributing to a hugely impactful product that already reaches around 60,000 young people annually.

You’ll need to have significant experience building, deploying and maintaining robust web applications, ideally in Ruby on Rails, and be happy working across both back-end and front-end. Beyond this, we’re open to a range of backgrounds.

In terms of our working culture, we promote:

  • Agile and flexible working: responsive management, flexible hours, work from home options
  • Personal excellence: we invest significantly in professional development, including an external mentor for every staff member, an individual CPD budget, and formal and informal training and support
  • Transparency and ownership: we have an open culture that ensures all staff guide our strategic direction

The application deadline is 1st March 2021 at 9am. Please note that we will review applications regularly as they come in, so early applications are strongly encouraged.

Salary: £51,072-£68,015
