The company is involved with the design, development and manufacture of innovative electric motors and electric drive (e-drive) solutions for the electric vehicle marketplace.

The graduate engineer will join the company’s graduate scheme and work towards professional accreditation under the guidance of a mentor.

Saietta is a well-established British R&D company on a mission to accelerate the market introduction of highly innovative, affordable and reliable propulsion motors for a broad range of electric vehicles (EVs) from scooters to buses. The product is proven, and market pull is strong. Since 2016 Saietta has undertaken rigorous R&D and testing for an innovative, unique motor topology, with low-cost raw materials, designed for low-cost, automated assembly. Saietta is now evolving from a pure R&D company into one that also manufactures its own motors in a new European production plant.

Overview:

This is a very exciting opportunity for a graduate engineer to be joining this successful and expanding automotive technology company. The company is involved with the design, development and manufacture of innovative electric motors and electric drive (e-drive) solutions for the electric vehicle marketplace.

The graduate engineer will join the company’s graduate scheme and work towards professional accreditation under the guidance of a mentor.

You will spend time within various parts of the business (e.g. motor build, design, test, R&D and sales, marketing and finance) to help you develop well-rounded technical and commercial experience.

Required:

  • Good understanding of product development, quality and manufacturing
  • Have a proactive, flexible and can-do attitude (able to work in a small, dynamic business)
  • Show evidence of passion and interest in electric vehicle technologies and market
  • Have a good bachelors or masters degree in a relevant STEM subject (mechanical, electronic, automotive engineering etc)
  • Candidates that have actively taken part in Formula student or similar projects (academically, hobby or industrially) would be preferred

Expected skills and experience:

The ideal candidate would be a recent graduate engineer, having achieved a good degree in engineering within a relevant subject (e.g. mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, automotive engineering or similar.)

Evidence of relevant project work would be preferred (e.g. electric vehicle systems, motor design, etc)

  • A degree or masters in a relevant subject ( e.g. mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, automotive engineering or similar.)
  • A good understanding of product design, development, test, quality and manufacturing
  • Able to demonstrate a proactive, flexible and can-do attitude (able to work in a small, dynamic business)
  • Show evidence of passion and interest in electric vehicle technologies and market
  • Experience gained within Formula student or similar projects (academically, hobby or industrially) would be ideal

Others (beneficial):

  • Experience with electrical machine design or development would be great
  • Experience of electric vehicle systems integration, test or validation would be useful
  • Automotive industry experience would be an advantage (e.g. internship)

This is a new position within the business, the scope and responsibilities of which will no doubt evolve in time. Meaning there are great career opportunities for the right graduate engineer candidate.
