The Role

ClimateCare is looking for an outstanding individual to join and help lead the Client Services Team.

We are a team built to nurture and grow our existing corporate partner relationships, many of which have worked with us for a decade or more. We’re focused on designing and delivering high-quality, innovative carbon offsetting programmes that maximise business value for our clients. We pride ourselves on being a trusted partner, supporting our clients as they raise the scale of their climate action and move towards a low-carbon world.

Reporting to the Director of Partnerships, we’re looking for an ambitious individual to lead and manage the existing Client Services team that have responsibility for all our existing client partnerships.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the carbon markets and/or of providing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reporting and consulting services to the private sector. They will have a proven track record in leading account management teams and of successfully securing, maintaining and growing key client accounts.

ClimateCare is in an exciting growth phase and we’re looking for someone with the potential to grow with us. We are looking to significantly expand the Client Services team over the next year and want the Head of Client Services to help manage this growth, helping to set our strategic course and ensure the process and management foundations are in place to facilitate it.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop existing client business

1.1. Prepare a clear annual plan for the development of key accounts to achieve agreed financial targets and ensure this is effectively implemented
1.2. Take personal responsibility for the successful management and development of the ClimateCare’s top-tier clients
1.3. Act as a respected and trusted strategic advisor to clients
1.4. Work with our business development team to input into proposals and ensure smooth transfer of new business opportunities across to client services
1.5. To support Director of Partnerships in developing new significant channel partnerships

2. New business tendering

2.1 Lead the process in developing proposals for new business with existing clients
2.2 To ensure any new proposals are coordinated with Business development and Portfolio Management

3. Process improvement

3.1 Ensure an effective tiered Key Account Management process is in place to ensure clear service level expectations for clients and cost-effective management of each client.
3.2 Ensure effective customer feedback to inform process improvements and new business opportunities
3.3 Ensure effective coordination with other functional areas within ClimateCare

4. Manage the Client Services team

4.1 Ensure the Client Service team consistently meet high level of service in managing our over 150 highest tier clients as well as achieving the teams financial and impact targets
4.2 Develop the skills and experience of the client team members and successfully integrate and train new members
4.3 Plan resourcing across the team to deliver objectives

5. Reporting

5.1 Provide regular financial report on current and forecast trading
5.2 Develop lead indicator reports for the Director of Partnerships and the Executive team

About you

Essential:

• A minimum of 3-4 years’ experience managing an account management team.
• A strong preference for experience in carbon markets. Alternatively, a background in sustainability or corporate social responsibility. A relevant degree or professional qualification is preferred, but not essential.
• A strong commercial focus, with proven track record in successfully managing and expanding client accounts and delivering against ambitious financial targets

• Strong influencing and communications skills
• Excellent relationship building and relationship management skills
• Experience of managing multiple client accounts simultaneously – coordinating colleagues and ensuring delivery against agreed client activity plans
• Significant Key Account Management experience
