We’re after an awesome communicator to help realise our ambitions to become the ethical choice for first and last mile deliveries in cities. You’ll lead our growth strategy, developing our national sales pipeline as well as support our depots with their local sales. You’ll be a key part of the founding team and our ambition in growing Zedify from our existing 8 hubs to over 50 in the next three to five years.

The job

Central to the success of Zedify is our ability to grow our national accounts across our operations so that we have the delivery volumes to grow existing depots, and also move into new cities as our network develops. At the same time, you’ll support our local depots by building capacity to enable them to win local sales, increasing local market penetration.

We currently have limited sales capacity, so there is a good deal of setting up systems and processes with better tracking and monitoring as well as identifying the growth opportunities.

Initially, you will be tasked with building and executing the sales strategy based around our value proposition. You’ll work closely with the founders and the marketing lead and be looking to put in place a strong sales pipeline at the national level, alongside sales tools and approaches that make things simpler and more efficient at the local level.

You’ll understand how important the client experience is and be able to make key decisions that will allow Zedify’s services to expand rapidly.

About Zedify

Zedify works by utilising depots on the edge of urban areas that act as a gateway for small items coming in and out of the area. We re-mode to large electric cargo trikes ensuring we are faster and more agile and can hit the narrow time windows consumers are demanding. By consolidating deliveries going to the same area, we are more efficient.

Zedify was established in 2018 and is a licenced network of independent zero emission delivery operators with a unified brand, business system and shared technology platform. In the past year, we delivered over 450,000 items out of our 8 UK depots. We have an ambition to become a certified B Corp.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll be a naturally talented communicator with the ability to quickly break down complex issues into accessible, inspiring language. You’ll want to make a difference and be part of a team that’s excited about making our cities more liveable.

We’re looking for someone who is keen to head up this key area but as initially the only salesperson, you’ll be able to work independently developing leads and looking for growth opportunities. As well as getting stuck into national-level sales with larger brands, you’ll need to demonstrate the ability to build the longer term strategy and set the agenda for growth at the national and local level. You’ll build a logical and adaptable system for developing, tracking and reporting on sales across the group.

You’ll need to have experience in all aspects of sales/business development, particularly working with national and global brands.  We’re looking for someone who demonstrates initiative and an ability to problem solve, rather than a desire to sit within a tightly-managed corporate structure. We would expect you to grow with the role and have the capacity and ambition to develop your own team as the business grows.

A background in logistics sales would be a huge plus.

Salary range £40-50k but negotiable for an exceptional candidate. We’re most keen on getting the right person.
