Migrateful runs cookery classes led by migrant chefs who are struggling to integrate and access employment due to legal and linguistic barriers. Our mission is to empower and celebrate our chefs on their journey to employment and independence.

We are looking for two junior figures to work alongside our team from early January for 6 months.

The roles will require a mixture of tasks focusing on supporting the smooth running of our operations and our campaigns.

The candidates will provide administrative support to our Head of Operations and to the rest of the team.

There will be a range of administrative duties to support the day to day running of the charity, as well as the opportunity to work on specific projects, supporting the ongoing development of the organisation’s infrastructure.

We are looking for someone who is efficient, flexible and resourceful, with a calm and friendly manner. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach and the ability to build positive relationships with people at every level. You will need to be a problem solver and enjoy developing and improving systems and processes. You will be dealing with delicate cases, so discretion and sound judgement are critical.

You should already have some experience of working in an office environment, possibly in a charity. This role would suit someone interested in pursuing a career in operations or charity administration.

SKILLS NEEDED

  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal) are essential, as well as proficient computer skills.
  • The candidates should be pro-active, self-motivated and show initiative, but also be and excellent team-player.
  • Higher education is strongly advised.
  • Our team is quite diverse, and we would particularly welcome candidates from a refugee background who can better support our mission.

Some experience in an administrative role is desirable.

£11.05 – London Living Wage

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYABILITY SUPPORT
This role reports directly to our Head of Operations.

We are part of a wide network of social enterprises and as such there will be opportunities to get in close contact with the network and explore different careers, as well as to access training opportunities.

Examples of training could be around project management, Salesforce and charity management. However, we’re keen to tailor our support to meet your needs and interests, so will work with you to find training that is most useful to your career development.

The Kickstart Scheme placement employee will be assigned a mentor to look at CV and application writing, and job searching skills. We can provide more information for each role if necessary.
