About Resource Futures

Resource Futures is an employee-owned, independent environmental consultancy with a 30-year heritage in the waste and resources sector. Our services are designed to realise our vision of a sustainable world, with a focus on designing out waste and pollution, keeping products and materials in use and supporting and regenerating natural systems – a world designed according to circular economy principles. We do this by gathering high quality evidence and conducting expert data analysis to inform governmental policy, provide direction for businesses and organisations, as well as support local authority services. Our work is complemented by behaviour change consultancy, which we see as pivotal to this mission, guiding and influencing people in businesses, communities and the world over to adopt more sustainable behaviours vital to our future.

We are proud to be part of the B Corp movement and take an ethical approach to business to make a positive difference in the world. You can find out more about our work at: resourcefutures.co.uk or on social media.

The opportunity

Resource Futures is recruiting a Coordinator to work with Waste Prevention Volunteers across Worcestershire. This exciting project is being managed by Resources Futures on behalf of Worcestershire County Council, to support their ‘Let’s Waste Less’ volunteer programme and the work of their Waste Prevention Project Manager. The post will be based at home but necessitates travel within Worcestershire, and therefore you will have a full, clean driving licence plus access to a car/van and be willing to drive when required.

The aim of the post is to coordinate a growing pool of volunteers, who are promoting waste reduction messages to residents of Worcestershire. The volunteers will be giving talks, attending events, visiting schools, or promoting waste reduction messages via social media and articles. The successful candidate will ideally be based within Worcestershire and will work closely with both the local authority and the Resource Futures project manager. This post will involve providing training and support for existing volunteers, as well as recruitment and training of new volunteers.

You will have an optional ethical pension plan – in this scheme you can contribute up to 7% and the company will match the employee contribution. In addition to this generous pension plan, we offer life insurance, Employee Assistance Programme, on call GP access, cycle to work schemes, volunteer days, external memberships, flexible working, company membership and annual away days. You will have access to our Consultative Group platform for employee voice and Learning and Development opportunities. You will be joining a company striving to be an inclusive employer and always interested in hearing your ideas.
