The role and team
We are looking for a persuasive, analytical and collaborative Policy Manager to support the next phase of Bulb’s policy and advocacy work. If you have a strong background in public policy, with proven analytical and commercial skills, this is an exciting opportunity to shape policy thinking at one of the UK’s fastest growing companies which is disrupting energy markets in the UK and beyond.
At Bulb, we grow sustainably and do what’s right for our members. You will help us provide the best service to our members by making sure that we engage with regulatory and legislative changes and embed new rules. You will report to Bulb’s Head of Regulation and Sustainability.
You’ll be responsible for 
– Developing Bulb’s public policy strategies and positions on new legislative and regulatory requirements, including creating materials or doing analysis to support advocacy on those positions.
-Managing policy projects on specific issues impacting Bulb including future retail market reform, competition and market sustainability and Net Zero
– Serving as an internal knowledge expert on all matters of public policy and regulatory change in the energy market and providing ongoing strategic counsel to the business on the policy and political implications of their plans.
– Making sure Bulb teams understand future regulatory requirements and working closely with the regulatory compliance team to ensure Bulb is prepared for change.
– Representing Bulb externally with regulators, policymakers, industry players and NEGOs to shape policy discussions that impact Bulb’s mission.
What you’ll bring to Bulb
– 3+ years of relevant experience in the energy industry developing policy or looking at its governance and regulation
– Proven commercial and analytical skills so you can quickly  grasp the impacts of a policy proposal and be able to formulate a response.
– Demonstrated ability to work with build and maintain good working relationships with multiple stakeholders including senior management in short periods of time including strengths in influencing and negotiation
– An established network of relevant contacts in politics and the energy industry,Proven credentials in influencing policy, responding to consultations and running campaigns.
– Experience in fast-growing start-ups.

– Learn quickly and be able to work autonomously Be as comfortable in the detail as you are in high level strategy
