Purpose of Job/ Key Objectives

You will have an understanding of data, and from the analysis be able to advise and make informed decisions that will have a positive impact on the website. This might be to improve our CTR, reduce our CAC, increase average basket value or decrease bounce rates. We want to be at the forefront of internet technologies, looking for new ways to increase our online presence. We are not afraid of trialling new things, we have a fail fast policy – let’s try it, but if it doesn’t work let’s move on quickly. We sell to both consumer and business customers, the marketing to which are both very different as is the measurement of success.

Responsibilities of the PPC Manager include:

  • Overall ownership of the paid traffic being generated for all aspects of our website including eCommerce and leads for our sales teams
  • Day to day management of Google Merchant Centre
  • Ownership of all paid search channels; primarily Google (and Bing) shopping but also includes search, display and remarketing
  • Bid management, conducting keyword research & competitor analysis
  • Reporting, analysing and interpreting data for campaign performance and feeding back to key stakeholders with proposed actions
  • Utilising bid management tools to help drive KPIs
  • Audit work and continued optimisation
  • Regular testing new strategies and relevant betas
  • Work with senior stakeholders to show them the strategic value, and deal with any questions / concerns they may have
  • Prepare analysis to help provide insights to the wider team / business
  • Help create forecasts for performance and budget
  • Manage regular reports for both wider business and marketing

The skills and experience of the Paid Search Manager:

  • Previous experience of managing paid search campaigns for an eCommerce website with a turnover in excess of £1.5m with evidence of how you supported this growth
  • Ideally a minimum of 3 years’ experience in creating, managing & reviewing a variety of PPC campaigns across, Google, Bing
  • Confident in solely managing all PPC budgets and providing accurate monthly spend forecasts
  • Experience of performance metric tools including Google AdWords and Google Analytics
  • Google & Bing qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Google Tag Manager and Microsoft Excel

Experience in the following would be highly beneficial, although not essential

  • Running paid campaigns across platforms e.g. Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • WordPress
  • WooCommerce
  • Amazon Marketplace including its advertising platform
  • eBay
