As an Operations Analyst, you’ll work in the data-hub for the Operations Team at Bulb. You’ll partner and coordinate with project managers and specialists to measure and report on strategic initiatives. You’ll take responsibility for using data to drive insights & change. You’ll support the delivery of back-end & front-end processes that underpin great member experiences. You’ll push forwards the “so what” of analysis you perform and ensure it turns into concrete recommendations and business action. You will also coach the operations team, empowering each individual to own reporting and data accuracy for their areas. Your work will span functional areas (like billing or metering), products (like pay-as-you-go) and specific parts of our member journey (e.g., their switch to Bulb). You’ll have experience of this kind of analyst role before, preferably in an energy or hyper-growth technology company like Bulb.
Here are some of the things we think will be valuable, but we’re also open-minded. If you recognise yourself any of these traits and you are passionate about the technologies mentioned then we’d love for you to send us an application.
*Strong SQL skills – able to extract, manipulate, transform and analyse large volumes of data with a high level of accuracy
*Strong Excel/Google Sheets modelling – can take data extracts from SQL and other data sources, then combine them into Excel models that can be understood by stakeholders around the business
*Beginner to Intermediate Python skills – ability to perform analysis using libraries like pandas and to grab data from APIs
*Experience using collaboration tools such as Jira
*Experience using version controls tools such as Github – you understand the importance of version control and reproducibility
*Smart thinker who is great at solving problems and can think through all the implications of decisions to form appropriate recommendations
*Track record of using data to drive change in an organisation
*Track record of supporting team members in data upskilling and creating a data driven culture
*Great communication skills and confident working with stakeholders across the business including management
*Excellent at presenting data visually and using BI tools like Looker/Tableau to do so
*Excellent attention to detail – you value getting things right
*Able to work independently and keep stakeholders actively engaged over the course of a project
*Team player: you see your work as part of the team’s overall plan, and within that you’re happy either driving your own project or *supporting team members with theirs
*Ownership mentality: don’t just execute what’s asked of you, consider whether it could be done a better way
*Can-do attitude: Bulb is a fast-paced environment and sometimes stressful, you need to be resilient and calm under pressure
*Sales/commercial analysis experience (even better in Energy)
*Experience working in energy, utilities, or a tech startup
