The Site Project Manager is a key customer facing role responsible for executing our contractual undertakings by delivering plants and projects at customer sites, safely, on time and in full.

Key areas of accountability

  • Working with the Sales and Technical teams you will support early client engagement assessing site suitability and conducting application engineering configuring RT’s proposed package
  • Support the Site Host team as they prepare their site to accept RT’s assets; where necessary enforcing RT’s contractual stance and the Site Owners obligations
  • Working with the host site, RT Manufacturing team and the RT Regional Cluster Manager, lead your team of field-based engineers to transport, install, commission and hand over production assets to our clients, delivering a least cost, least risk best overall outcome plan
  • Support the Site Team as the plant and team come up their learning curves
  • Work with the RT Remote Control team and the Regional Cluster Manager to schedule and deliver RT’s Service and Maintenance packages across your region, deploying your field based teams and, where appropriate third party resources, to deliver RT’s contractual undertakings and ensure that Site Hosts and Asset Owner Operators are well serviced.
  • Work with the sales team, the Regional Cluster Manager and the Site Host teams to schedule and deliver upgrade installations, removal of assets and site remediation.
  • Role model – The Site Project Teams are a key customer facing role, our performance will be measured by our clients in how well we deliver, land, install and commission their valuable assets. The RT Site Project Manager will need to be a role model as well as a real team player, open to new ideas, cultures and ways of working. They will be champions for:
    • Our customers, our teams and our bottom line, simultaneously
    • Our core process and standard workflows
    • Industry best practice, regulatory compliance and health and safety
    • Continuous improvement and the expansion of our capabilities

Qualifications, capabilities and experience

In order to succeed in this role candidates and incumbents will need the following qualifications, capabilities and experience

Essential qualifications and experience

  • Broad experience of delivering capital asset projects and sites in the £3.0 to £10m window
  • Site and construction health and safety including CDM
  • Remote site operations and the management of regional field teams
  • Degree qualification in Engineering ideally MEng in Chemical engineering

Desirable qualifications and experience

  • Have executed an asset site project delivery process
  • Oil and gas process experience
  • Multi-site multi- region work
  • Multinational
  • RCM / TPM / Lean & Kaizen
  • Project Financial Management

Critical Situations

  • Total project delivery responsibility: H&S, Resource management, Milestone delivery and financial performance
  • Manage the inevitable situation when, despite our best efforts, the asset is not “right first time” or we have not properly configured the asset to match site requirements
  • Delivering a large capital asset project at a remote third-party site a long way from home perhaps abroad and in a foreign language and jurisdiction
  • Working with multi-cultural teams at remote and varied sites delivering complex capital asset projects to challenging deadlines
  • Working with own, third party and customer teams

  • Working in remote locations away from office systems and intimate support

  • Resourcefulness – Ideally we will plan to cover every eventuality, sadly we will fail and when we do we will look to our Site Project Managers to be resourceful and find ways through complex and challenging problems.
